Le Méridien Taipei has opened its doors in Taiwan. The 160-key property emphasizes contemporary art, cuisine, and minimalist design. More than 700 original artworks created exclusively for the hotel by global artists adorn the hotel. As part of the arrival experience, the hotel has unveiled Inner Waves 01, a piece created for Le Méridien by artist Hisham Bharoocha. As they ride the elevators, guests are treated to a “soundscape” of natural sounds and beats set to music, created by Henri Scars Struck. Guestrooms are outfitted with sumptuous sitting and work areas, the Le Méridien signature bed, state-of-the art technology, and elegant bathrooms with rainforest shower and separate bath tub.
For dining, guests have access to a series of innovative concepts through partnerships with chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten and acclaimed mixologist Ernesto Lechthaler. My Humble House features traditional Cantonese cuisine in a casual and sophisticated setting, while international and local flavors abound at all-day-dining restaurant Latest Recipe. At ChocoArt, guests will discover the pleasures of chocolate in surprising new ways with its impressive array of chocolates, baked goods, coffee, and even chocolate-infused body lotions and candles. The Latitude 25 lounge features live entertainment, while the lounge bar Quube offers an outdoor seating area. Other amenities include a heated indoor pool, sauna, Jacuzzi, health club, and more than 18,000 square feet of meeting space.
