Leela Palaces, Hotels, and Resorts has unveiled a new identity to express the brand’s transformation over the last 25 years. Based on an 18-month analysis of guest feedback and satisfaction surveys, the new logo and revamped website reflect the brand’s four pillars of grace, luxury, nature, and India.
Designed by Landor Associates, Paris, the monogram logo⎯⎯a singular L expressed in traditional Indian calligraphy⎯⎯stands for Leela, luxury, legendary, lavish, and lyrical. Indian calligrapher Satya Rajpurohit tinted the monogram copper to echo a peacock tail, India’s national bird. The newly designed website will be operational for mobile devices and currently features various social media outlets and sharing tools.
The group plans to double its portfolio in the next four years by adding four new luxury hotels and two branded Leela Residences to its portfolio in India. Locations include Jaipur; Lake Ashtamudi in Kerala; a business hotel at Bhartiya City; and palace hotels in Noida and in Agrawhere every room will face the Taj Mahal. Luxury residences are slated for North and South India, including the Leela residences in Bhartiya City and Supertech’s mixed-use development at Noida.
