Los Angeles-based interior designer Martyn Lawrence Bullard has completed the Purple Palm restaurant at the Colony Palms Hotel in Palm Springs, California. The designer, who renovated the hotel’s guestrooms and suites in 2007, takes inspiration from the Colony Palms’ glamorous heyday of the 1930s and ’40s.
Integrating a similar fusion of Moroccan and Californian style found in the hotel, the renovation forgoes much of the purple referenced in the restaurant’s name and previous incarnations in favor of a refreshed palette of warm brown and red hues. New Moroccan-themed chandeliers and intricately designed wallpaper play off of light blue seating and tufted booths.
