COMO Hotels and Resorts has opened The Metropolitan by COMO, Miami Beach, on Collins Avenue and 24th Street in South Beach.
While centrally located, the rebuilt property offers a respite from the beach with its private pool with cabanas and a rooftop COMO Shambhala spa. Italian designer Paola Navone preserved the hotel’s Art Deco exterior and the lobby’s terrazzo floor. These elements contrast with urbane interiors in shades of peppermint green and dusky gray, as well as white marble and chrome.
The hotel has two restaurants: the poolside Traymore and the Traymore Bar. Other amenities include the rooftop COMO Shambhala Urban Escape, which has four treatment rooms, a hydrotherapy pool, and a juice bar with views of the ocean.
