Boutique hotel Las Alcobas in Mexico City has opened Dulce Patria, helmed by chef and restaurateur Martha Ortiz. The two-story restaurant features the work of architect and lighting consultant Victor Zapatero, who has created a sophisticated yet festive space that integrates the splendor of Mexico. A palette of amber, gold, and orange LED lights illuminates the contemporary dining room, while scarlet-toned floors, speckled with gold leaf, set the stage for red and black furniture adorned with the symbol of a golden eagle, a national icon. A dramatic spiral staircase leads to a bar and private dining on the second floor, where glass doors open to an outdoor terrace lined with local flora.
