MGM Resorts is throwing its hat into the ring for an entertainment complex in downtown Springfield, Massachusetts. The plan calls for a revived Main Street area featuring multiple restaurants, shopping, a hotel, casino, movie theaters, bowling alley, and an outdoor stage. MGM executives say that the 500,000-square-foot development will feed off and preserve the architecture of the local area, which was heavily damaged by a 2011 tornado. The proposed hotel would have 250 guestrooms, a spa, pool, and roof deck.
