Apple Core Hotels has completed a renovation of the Broadway at Times Square Hotel. Designed by New York-based Jessica Shaw of Moment Design + Productions, the enhancements reposition the property’s breakfast room and lobby area for a more modern design.
“Design features are inspired by Times Square and the idea of bright lights in the big city,” says Shaw. “We chose to incorporate these elements subtly and symbolically rather than literally and the end result is an inviting space that reflects a design savvy city without being intimidating or overwhelming.”
Custom lighting plays an integral role in the design with wave-like ceiling height variances. Brightening the lounge area, a custom, Broadway-inspired LED wall recalls Times Square with a grid of pin lights. A backlit wall and custom murals additionally anchor the contemporary design of the breakfast lounge.
“During this renovation we took the opportunity to create a compelling new entrance and lobby experience, redefining the space, adding color and subtle nods to our location,” says Vijay Dandapani, president of Apple Core Hotels. “Guests love our complimentary breakfast and wifi and now have a completely refreshed environment to enjoy them in.”
