New York-based Morgans Hotel Group is set to design the Social Hub for the Hospitality Design Exposition & Conference (HD Expo), taking place at Las Vegas’ Mandalay Bay Convention Center on May 14th-16th.
The Social Hub will be home to Hospitality Design (HD) magazine’s booth, a bar, and the Green Voice Conversations with the Experts and HD Conversations with the Owners. Taking inspiration from the hotel group’s much-anticipated Delano Las Vegas, expect simple and modern forms done at a scale that add drama and that unexpected Morgans Hotel Group experience.
In other HD Expo news, the 8th Annual Radical Innovation Award Competition, the only global award honoring innovative hotel concepts, has extended its deadline to February 26th. Co-founded by the John Hardy Group (JHG) and HD, the competition charges individuals, firms, and brands to create a new strategy that solves hotel industry problems and creates new opportunities for guests and investors. (Students do not require an entry fee and are also encouraged to enter.) All entries are scored on concept, design creativity, immediate impact on industry, narrative, graphics, and viability, and the three finalists are invited to HD Expo to defend their ideas Shark Tank-style in front of a panel of hotel investors and executives.
