Morgans Hotel Group has signed an agreement to operate a Mondrian hotel in Doha, Qatar, that’s scheduled to open in early 2013. Plans call for multiple restaurants and lounges, an indoor/outdoor rooftop pool bar, banqueting and meeting venues, and a spa. Members of Qatar’s Royal Family are developing the hotel and will own it.

The developer is creating a spectacular hotel that we will be delighted to include in our collection,” says Marc Gordon, president of Morgans Hotel Group. “This agreement is another example of the international appeal of our brand, and every indication is that Doha will be a launching pad for further growth for us in the region.”
