The Crown Reef Resort in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina has opened a $2 million waterpark as part of ongoing renovations. In addition to two new four-story enclosed waterslides, the park features a waterslide for children, sub play area, and a sun deck.
The addition is part of the 20-year-old resort’s major $7.5 million renovation, started last fall, which is one of the area’s largest resort renovations in the last five years. The slides and other new water features will be enclosed during cooler months and are open aired during the summer months.
Additionally, the property’s new Town Center area offers dining and entertainment with the Atlantic Ocean as its backdrop. It features a casual restaurant, coffee bar, ice cream shop, and arcade. The resort also boasts oceanfront pools and Jacuzzis, an indoor pool, kid-size pools, and the longest oceanfront lazy river in Myrtle Beach, along with 12,000 square feet of space for groups.
