The Nashville area is experiencing a hotel construction boom, with 22 properties in the works, according to The Tennessean. Leading the way is the 800-room Omni Nashville Hotel, set to open in 2013. Other hotels underway include the Drury Plaza Hotel, Home2 Suites by Hilton, and TownePlace Suites, with another TownePlace Suites, Candlewood Suites, and Residence Inn/Spring Hill Suites about to break ground. All told, 1,400 rooms are under construction with another 2,100 on the drawing board.
