When Lolita’s Cantina and Tequila Bar opens on July 22, it will be home to the first holographic nightclub in the U.S. Digital Illusions, along with film director and club developer Rick Haynes, will use fire-retardant polymers and high-definition video to create a holographic illusion showcasing everything from mariachis during lunch to virtual dancers at night. Custom software allows the DJ to mix in the holographic audio and video with his own mix seamlessly. Hayes and Digital Illusions will offer a library of clips from entertainers ranging from magicians to comedians.
The venue is owned by hospitality developer Eric DeBiasi and chef Carlo Cavallo.
