Hotel Saint-Barth Isle de France introduces its 4,300-square-foot Flamands Villas. Penny Morrison of London-based Morrison Interiors used her love of converted barns and farmhouses in France as the inspiration for the villas.
Distressed oak floorboards, a Tadelakt-type finish on the walls and rough oak beams bring a strong character to the spaces. The color and style of the antique driftwood coffee tables complement the distressed wooden floors and mix with the modern artwork to create a familiar yet contemporary feel. Specially commissioned artwork with silver-leaf frames adorns the villas, and all mirrors, printed fabrics, and upholstery have been sourced from Morrison’s own office.
The Flamands Villas complement the beach-house ambiance and bring the resort up-to-date with their simple style, Morrison says. “Their stunning position on the beach and infinity plunge pools make them a pleasure to look at, and with such big sitting rooms they have a very calm and peaceful atmosphere, reminiscent of a light and airy loft space.”
