The Nobu Hotel Shoreditch London is set to open in 2016, marking the company’s first hotel in Europe.
Nobu Hospitality will open the 156-room hotel in the Shoreditch area of London with a design that reflects the city of origin and Nobu Hospitality’s East-meets-West philosophy. The overall interior design is a collaboration between London-based Ben Adams Architects and Malibu, California-based Studio PCH.
The hotel’s five stories are fractured into angular, concrete balconies, which are combined with cantilevered Corten steel beams to form a seemingly frayed edge to the northern facade. Utilizing layered glass, the reflective facade balances privacy and exposure. An landscaped garden at the site’s eastern edge provides natural light and access to the lower restaurant and bar.
