Nourison Industries, Inc. has appointed Elliot Steel as design director of the company’s hospitality division. He will report to Jonny Peykar, vice president of hospitality at Nourison.
Steel is based in Nourison’s offices, warehouse, and design facilities in Calhoun, Georgia. In developing the division’s overall design and product strategy, he will work closely with Linda JacobsNourison’s head designer⎯⎯as well as the rest of the design team to create innovative broadloom products for a range of commercial market segments.
“We are very pleased to have someone with Elliot’s creativity, talent, and experience on our team,” says Peykar. “His global credentials and understanding of the commercial broadloom industry, architects, and designers will be very helpful in guiding this rapidly expanding division of Nourison.”
Steel is a 25-year veteran of the carpet industry and most recently worked as global design manager at Tai Ping Carpets International. Prior to that, he held senior design positions at Brintons UK, Ltd., Forte Cloth Ltd., Interface Europe Ltd., and Stoddard Carpets, Ltd.
“Wool and carpets have always been in my blood and I am very excited to be part of such a talented group of designers,” says Steel, who was born in Hawick, Scotland⎯⎯the home of cashmere and the Scottish woolen industry. “Nourison has a wonderful reputation in the commercial luxury broadloom sector. I am looking forward to enhancing the product line and increasing our market share in the hospitality industry.”
