The Omni San Antonio at the Colonnade has completed Aquatica Suite in a partnership with SeaWorld and the Art Institute of San Antonio.


Inspired by Aquatica, SeaWorld’s Waterpark, the suite was designed by Katelyn Goudge, an interior design graduate from the Art Institute of San Antonio, who created the project while in school through a simple concept: what she would want the suite to be if she was a kid.
Entering by a slide, the room captures the essence of what it would be like to be under the sea, while offering fun activities for children. With a painted sandy bottom floor, visitors sense they’re walking on the beach.
For entertainment, the room boasts a floor-to-ceiling, three-dimensional fiberglass rubber coral-blue entertainment wall and a recessed desk area and system with two flat-screen monitors. A compass window mural directs guests north, south, east, or west and the amphibious seating that includes a bubble chair and a pair of stingray bean bag chairs in honor of Aquatica’s stingray encounter. There is also a cubby hole filled with books and stuffed animals as well as a bubble aquarium and a large site map.
For the parents, an adjoining bedroom and separate bathroom is connected to the room with a porthole looking in.
The resort also offers the Discovery suite for kids, which was designed to provide the comforts of home and features twin beds with colorful bedding, side-by-side flat screen televisions with a Wii and an Xbox, a mini basketball court, an art table, and a reading station.
