One&Only Resort Slated for China

Kerzner International Holdings will develop and manage a One&Only resort on Tufu Bay in Sanya, Hainan-the luxury brand’s first property in China. The resort, scheduled to open in early 2014, will be nestled amidst 40 acres of coconut palms and ancient rosewood trees while offering views of the coastline from 180 guestrooms and villas. Kerzner will employ materials that showcase the natural elements of Hainan, with plans to weave pieces of the island’s historical tapestry throughout the resort with the use of original furnishings, fabrics, and art crafted by descendants of local tribes. Plans also call for signature restaurants, a spa, and meeting space.
