Gaylord Opryland Hotel & Convention Center has reopened its doors six months after the Cumberland River flooded the property out in May. The entire Magnolia wing of the hotel, which did not sustain damage, received a revamp courtesy of tvsdesign that infuses modern sophistication and glamour with its traditional roots. Its 600 guestrooms, five presidential suites, and lobby feature new furniture and contemporary finishes. Ornamental magnolia-patterned carpet was added throughout the Magnolia wing as an additional wayfinding tool for guests. In addition, the 115 lower-level Delta guestrooms affected by the flood were torn down to the studs and completely refurbished.
The hotel’s $270 million makeover also resulted in five new restaurants and bars, as well as a refurbishment of the Cascades lobby aimed at creating a more streamlined arrival and check-in experience. This week also marks the beginning of Opryland’s annual Country Christmas holiday extravaganza.
