Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica at Peninsula Papagayo plans to unveils a more modern and lighter version of its public spaces, rooms, and restaurants this fall.

Dallas-based Paul Duesing Partners will complete the resort’s lobby, spa salon, ballroom, guestrooms, and suites and San Francisco-based EDG Interior Architecture + Design will redesign the restaurants.

Reflecting the tropical forest reverie, the entrance will be complemented by flowing sheers, a colorful mosaic wall treatment, and a stone wall. A dramatic chandelier hanging above will complete the eclectic and stylish space.

The resort’s standard rooms and villas will soon boast a palette of aqua, kiwi, lavender, magenta, and mango and will include more modern and functional furniture and a terrace that feels like an outdoor living room. Additional enhancements include a chandelier and bath amenities with hand-painted custom ceramic designs.
Tico’s lounge will transform from a coffee lounge and rustic bakery in the morning into an idyllic lunch and dinner spot with views of the Pacific Ocean. In a nod to the history of coffee in Costa Rica, Tico’s updated décor will include the traditional chorreador de café, a wooden coffee-making device with cloth filter still found in many Costa Rican homes.

Formerly Di Mare restaurant, Cena Sociale will offer wine tastings at a 13-seat wine bar and a private dining room. The restaurant will have a more casual and open feel than before and will showcase small and large plates of local seafood, fresh pastas, and pizzettas.

On the other side of Tico’s lounge, the new Sol y Sombra all day restaurant will feature a circular center bar for fresh juice and smoothies and cocktails and live entertainment in the evening. A reimagining of the previous restaurants Congo’s and Papagayo, Sol y Sombra will incorporate bold and vibrant colors to celebrate Costa Rican culture.
