Peachtree Hotel Group has announced the acquisition/investment of six hotels in the southeastern United States during the first quarter of this year. With a goal of adding 15 hotels this year, the group has added properties in Florida, North Carolina, Arkansas, and Alabama.
In Florida, the group now owns the 120-room Courtyard by Marriott Jacksonville⎯⎯a green lodging certified hotel⎯⎯as well as the 85-room and suite Hampton Inn Okeechobee, which features lake views and meeting space accommodations for up to 35 people.
Peachtree also acquired the 96-suite Homewood Suites by Hilton Durham-Chapel Hill in North Carolina, as well as Four Points by Sheraton Durham at Southpoint. With 98 rooms, Four Point by Sheraton boasts 1,800 square feet of banquet space and close proximity to Research Triangle Park and Raleigh-Durham International Airport.
In Arkansas, Peachtree gained the Residence Inn Little Rock Hotel⎯⎯housing 96 suites available for extended stays. The 66-room Comfort Inn in Alabama is also among Peachtree’s purchases.

“During the first quarter, we looked at more than 100 transactions, including individual assets and portfolios, but selected only six where we thought we could add value at appropriate risk-adjusted returns,” says Jatin Desai, chief investment officer of Peachtree Hotel Group. “While all but one of these transactions were equity-related, acquiring hotel loans remains a high priority for us. We want to work with owners and operators who can benefit from restructuring of existing loans, cash infusions or providing other creative financing alternatives.”
