The Peninsula Hong Kong has revealed phase one of its $450 million renovation. Assisted by Gettys, the Peninsula Hotel’s in-house design team conceived guestrooms and suites to reference private yachts, motorcars, and jets. Bespoke details define the accommodations, from custom-made Cassina furnishings walnut writing desks finished in beige leather and glossy patina.
Technology also plays an important role in the redesign. Interactive digital touch-screen tablets allow guests to personalize all room controls in one of five languages. Meanwhile, entertainment systems feature 46-inch flatscreen LED TVs (55 inches in suites), internet TV, iPod/iPad docking station, and surround sound.LED touch-screen panels also are available in the marble bathrooms for viewing TV or creating a light and sound experience.
