San Diego’s Porto Vista Hotel & Suites has marked its first phase of refurbishment with 145 newly redesigned guestrooms. Adorning guestroom walls are black and white floor-to-ceiling photo murals by photographer John Trice celebrating the leisure lifestyles of 1960s Italy.
The hotel’s complete refurbishment, led by architect Graham Downes, is expected by December. The Mediterranean-style building recalls the cool, casual vibe of the 1960s Italian coast and features the Glass Door Restaurant and Lounge, a rooftop deck, Evolve Salon, Porto Vespa boutique, and modern meeting and event space.
