Carlson Rezidor is set to open the Radisson Blu Hotel, Algiers Hydra in Q1 of 2015. The 138-room hotel marks the first of the brand in Algeria.
“We are delighted to arrive in Algeria-a country with considerable growth potential where we aim to further strengthen the presence of our core brands Radisson Blu and Park Inn by Radisson,” says Wolfgang M. Neumann, president and CEO of Rezidor.
The signing also underlines the importance Africa has for Carlson Rezidor as a key development market. All across the continent the group operates and develops 51 hotels with more than 11,300 rooms; in Northern Africa alone 14 hotels with more than 4,500 rooms in Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, and Libya.
The Radisson Blu Hotel, Algiers Hydra will be located in the Hydra Commune, part of the wealthiest part of the Algerian capital, and shelters the majority of the foreign embassies, ministries, and universities. The hotel will offer a 3,390-square-foot restaurant, a lobby bar, as well as 4,090 square feet of meeting and conference facilities and a wellness and fitness center.
