The Radisson Lexington Hotel has rebranded as the Lexington New York City following a shift to independent operation by Highgate Hotels. The hotel will undergo a multimillion-dollar renovation courtesy of Dash Design, who will integrate the property’s legacy with a modern interpretation of classic New York. Reminiscent of the jazz era, the redesign will incorporate custom furnishings, commissioned artwork, and Art Deco patterns.
“The Lexington’s historical significance is something that has proven to be a great influence throughout the design process,” says David Ashen of Dash Design. “We felt it was important to highlight the elements that have drawn so many noteworthy guests to this hotel since the late 1920s. We are bringing a fresh perspective to the property and working to create a place that feels familiar and referential.”
F&B venues will include gourmet Chinese restaurant S. Dynasty; Taina Café, featuring Nuevo Latino; and the hotel’s longtime dining destination Raffles, where murals of vintage album covers will adorn the walls. The Lex Lounge and Sushi Bar also will remain.
