Renaissance Sanya Resort & Spa has opened its doors in China’s renowned resort destination on the South China Sea. Designed by WATG, the property features 507 spacious guestrooms, including 90 suites and 10 private villas with a personal pool, that are equipped with balconies. The presidential suite is accessible by private elevator and offers more than 10,700 square of accommodation, including four bedrooms, two swimming pools, and a private dining room for 12 with floor-to-ceiling windows.
A theme of stars links the Renaissance’s seven F&B outlets. Star Anise has private dining rooms, including six on “floating islands.” Meanwhile, Red Star Cafe, the 320-seat three-meal restaurant is anchored by floating red glass box kitchens, each one specializing in a different Chinese cooking technique, and the Star fish Market & Bar offers more casual dining.
The resort also caters to families with a kids’ club and the “R-Cade,” which includes a 10-pin bowling alley; private cinema; and individual Wii, Xbox, and PlayStation zones. Other amenities include the Quan spa, a fitness center, and more than 25,000 square feet of event space.
