The Renaissance St. Louis Airport Hotel has wrapped up its $1.6 million renovation to the lobby, lounge, and restaurant. Cauhaus Design conceived a contemporary interpretation of the city’s rich industrial history that also echoes the hotel’s radial shape. Designed to look like an urban warehouse, the spaces reference Mardi Gras, the Dog Parade, the rivers, and beer. Rustic floors and reclaimed wood beams are offset by glamorous pillows and striking chandeliers, while the furniture comprises overscaled slouchy sofas and modern interpretative seating. Additionally, metallic sheers and sliding barn doors create intimate and flexible spaces.

Cauhaus also gives a nod to the iconic Gateway Arch, with close-up sections of the arch’s stainless steel panels on the wall of the front lobby flanked by classic Eero Aarnio ball chairs and a bellman’s stand that looks like an airplane turbine.
