The Ritz-Carlton Company has opened the Ritz-Carlton, Chengdu. Marking the brand’s entrance into southwestern China, the 353-room property will be the ninth in the country for the company and the 19th in Asia Pacific. Inspired by traditional Chinese courtyard homes, the interior design blends Asian motifs into the contemporary luxury of the hotel. It will feature a palette of light wood, calm blue, and golden hues.
“We are delighted to be opening our first hotel in Chengdu, an important gateway city in one of the world’s fastest growing travel destinations in southwest China,” says Herve Humler, president of Ritz-Carlton. “The city has true international appeal, attracting visitors from all over the world for business or pleasure. We are delighted to play our part in helping put this vibrant destination on the map for discerning luxury travelers.”
Dining options include an elegant Cantonese restaurant with eight private dining rooms; Flair, the sister restaurant and bar of the Ritz-Carlton Shanghai, Pudong; and an all-day-dining restaurant. A grand ballroom, junior ballroom, and seven additional meeting rooms, totaling nearly 18,500 square feet of space, are also on tap.
