Ritz-Carlton is making plans for a Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Puerto Rico, the first of its kind for the Americas. The luxury hotel will be part of Dorado Beach Resort, created more than 50 years ago as a luxury island retreat. The property will include 100 guestrooms and 14 one-bedroom suites, all directly on the beach, plus Su Casa, the original plantation hacienda renovated back to its original 1920s style to serve as a five-bedroom beachfront VIP villa. Amenities will include a five-acre botanical spa, beach club, and eco-adventure center. The resort currently has four golf courses, an 11-mile nature trail, waterpark, and fitness and wellness center.
