Ritz-Carlton will make its foray into Vietnam with a 250-key hotel opening in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) in 2017. In his design, architect Bernardo Fort-Brescia of Arquitectonica will draw inspiration from the country’s legendary dragon. The hotel towers will represent two dragons rising from the ground with their tails coiled and pearls dangling from their mouths. In Vietnamese culture, dragons, especially in pairs, are powerful life symbols representing prosperity and growth.
