RIU Hotels & Resorts will debut its Riu Plaza urban hotel brand in the U.S. on November 1st.
Following a major refurbishment, the Hotel Riu Florida Beach will reopen as the Hotel Riu Plaza Miami Beach. While maintaining its characteristic façade, the hotel will completely change its interiors to adapt to the standard of the modern and cosmopolitan Riu Plaza line. Total projected investment in the project is $15 million.
The hotel is set on Collins Avenue, with direct access to the Miami Beach and walk. The property will maintain all 284 of its guestrooms, which will be redesigned and outfitted with completely new bathrooms adorned with a glass and steel palette. It will also offer a new main restaurant, a revamped lobby, and a new swimming pool bar.
The Riu Plaza’s U.S. hotel collection will add a second property at the end of 2015, the The Riu Plaza New York Times Square, currently under construction.
