Marriott International has relaunched the Riyadh Marriott Hotel in Saudi Arabia following a refurbishment. Originally opened in 1980, the hotel was the company’s first property in the Middle East and Africa.
After the 1.5-year brand refresh, the Riyadh Marriott Hotel now has a modern luxury that takes in the local culture. In the Greatroom Lobby, dramatic light installations, Mashrabiya wooden screens, glass mosaics, a water feature, and plush seating create an Arabian oasis atmosphere.
The 418 guestrooms have a contemporary design with modern furnishings, neutral colors, and the brand’s signature red accents. Other additions include the Terrace Grill fine-dining steakhouse and the Makarim Conventions Center.
Marriott International operates under four lodging brands across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia: Marriott Hotels, Marriott Executive Apartments, Courtyard by Marriott, and The Ritz-Carlton. There are a further seven properties scheduled to join Marriott International’s portfolio in the Kingdom by 2017, bringing the total room count to 4,125.
