Spearheaded by executive chef Ted Cipollone, Rockography restaurant will make a high-energy debut in New York in March. Designed by Andrew Alford-who describes Rockography as “a cross between CBGB’s and the classic New York City diner”-the venue is a tribute to classic rock. An array of high-def TV monitors broadcast rare, archived concert footage from the world’s greatest rock bands, while hundreds of vintage concert posters line the walls.
The restaurant also houses a gallery of original, signed, and numbered works from photojournalist Chris Walter, who has captured such legendary bands as the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and the Who. Other exhibits include images from Woodstock taken by photographer Jason Laure, as well as a selection of unique celebrity mug shot-inspired paintings from Soho artist Primitivo.
Further contributing to the rock-n-roll vibe: a 23-foot zinc-topped bar made from Marshall electric guitar amplifiers, a host station built from a working stage speaker, and a massive collage of vintage rock concert posters.
