The Gerber Group has opened The Roof, a lounge and outdoor terrace on top of Viceroy New York in Midtown Manhattan. The Roof will supplement Kingside, the hotel’s street-level restaurant and bar.
The space boasts views of Central Park from the hotel’s 29th floor. Fashioned by New Yorkâ€â€œbased Roman and Williams, the space evokes a luxury yacht complete with ipe floors, brass details, custom walnut-and-leather sofas, and curated images of the sky, sea, and clouds by photographer Dalton Portella.
“The Roof is the clubhouse of the spaces, all clad in iroko,” says Robin Standefer of Roman and Williams. “This is the perfect spot to take in New York’s energy from a luxurious perch.”
The Roof’s outdoor terrace will be open year round, thanks to heat lamps and available wool blankets. As for the menu, the terrace will serve a collection of small-batch spirits, regionally brewed craft beers, global wine offerings, and a selection of classic and modern cocktails.
