London-based RPW Design has named Caroline West as director of projects.
West, a project director and chartered architect with 28 years of experience in the construction industry, has spent the last 15 years specializing in project management of hotel developments-including the refurbishment and rebranding of the Grosvenor House Hotel, where she introduced Marriott brand standards.
As project manager at Hilton International for London and the South East, West worked on developments including the Langham, Hilton Gatwick Airport, and the Park Lane Mews Hotel. She has also managed the roll out of restaurant and bar concepts across Hilton’s UK portfolio.
“Initially,” says West, “my priority will be to make sure that we maintain and continuously improve the high standards of design and project delivery which makes RPW an industry leader in the field of hospitality and leisure design.”
“Caroline’s experience of sitting on the other side of the table will also ensure that the practice remains equally as focused on program needs as it is on design requirements,” says Jan Wilson RPW Design’s managing director. “Her understanding of the various challenges and difficulties of managing teams and projects from a client perspective will complement and strengthen the team at RPW.”
