RTKL is serving as a sponsor of the Chrysalis Suit Drive, coinciding with the ALIS 2012 conference. The program benefits Chrysalis, a Los Angeles nonprofit that helps low-income and homeless individuals find and retain employment by collecting donations of gently worn professional clothing to be used for job interviews.
“Donating a suit, or even a tie or a pair of shoes, is such a simple act that can genuinely change someone’s life,” says RTKL vice president Steve Galbreath, who is on the committee organizing the drive. “The city of Los Angeles has been an important part of RTKL’s story and we’re pleased to support the community in any way we can.” Also serving on the committee are John Page from Balfour Beatty, Misha Bedner from Hirsch Bedner Associates, John Fareed from Anson-Stoner, and Jonathan Wyman from WATG.
All ALIS 2012 conference attendees and participants are encouraged to bring at least one piece of professional clothing to donate for the effort. For more information about the Suit Drive, visit www.ALISsuitdrive.com.
