RTKL has been commissioned to create the master plan for the second phase of the massive Nature, Culture and Design (NCD) development in Korea, which will include planning for the 36-million square-foot Guri World Design Center (GWDC). Located on the outskirts of Seoul in Guri City, the multibillion-dollar NCD development will also feature an exposition center, hotel, retail, condominiums, single-family homes, commercial zone, design graduate school, and cultural facilities.
GWDC will serve as Asia’s design hub and will include branch offices for over 2,000 global companies, many of them in the design and construction industry. In addition, it will include exhibits featuring high-tech finishing materials such as furniture, interior decoration, and lighting that will be available for design professionals to purchase. The GWDC will provide international architects, manufacturers, and marketers with the tools and resources to engage in the rapidly growing Asian market.
