The Rutledge Cab Company (RCC) recently debuted in Charleston, South Carolina. Serving as a gas station originally, the 3,200-square-foot restaurant features a marble-topped bar with the above emblem reading, ‘D’s Liquor Bar.’ Customized light fixtures highlight eclectic pieces, including a faux alligator door and a vintage bingo board. Photographs of old cars and worn signs look aged and historic next to the original brick walls and the wood plank ceiling.
“Our vision was to create a casual, neighborhood spot where you can grab a cocktail or settle into a booth for a full dinner with friends,” says chef Robert Carter. “I believe we’ve created this type of restaurant and experience and I can’t wait to open our doors.”
Designed by Charleston, S.C.-based J. Fletcher Design as a nostalgic dining experience, Rutledge Cab Company boasts an all-day menu with indoor seating for 60 and an outdoor patio for 70.
