Marriott Hotels & Resorts announced today that the Sanibel Harbour Resort & Spa has officially become the Sanibel Harbour Marriott Resort & Spa, bringing the first full-service Marriott property to Lee County in Southwest Florida. The 85-acre Florida Green Lodging resort is located on a private peninsula overlooking Sanibel and Captiva islands, and is located 25 minutes from the new Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) in Fort Myers.
As part of its transition, the hotel will undergo a facelift, bringing high-definition TVs, upgraded bedding, and signature Marriott services and amenities to the 347-room property, which will now participate in the Marriott Rewards program. As a franchise partner of Marriott, the Sanibel Harbour Marriott Resort & Spa will have access to Marriott’s global reservations system, as well as its sales and marketing engines targeting both group and leisure customers.
"Marriott brings so much strength in small groups. We will now have access to 5,000 to 6,000 group rooms, which have never met in Sanibel before," says Cory Clark, general manager of Sanibel Harbour Marriott Resort & Spa. The hotel has more than 45,000 square feet of function space, with floor-to-ceiling views of the area’s natural surroundings. The 34,000 square feet of outdoor space includes a private pool with palm-peppered deck and lush lawns.
The property retains the Sanibel Harbour Princess, the resort’s 100-foot luxury yacht with nightly sunset dinner cruises and Sunday brunch. The 40,000-square-foot Spa features an expansive fitness center and includes 29 treatment rooms.
