Scrub Island Resort, Marina & Spa in the British Virgin Islands has completed phase one of development, designed by OBM International (OBMI). The first phase comprises a welcome center and Marina Village, featuring a 60-slip marina, more than 5,000 square feet of retail and commercial space, and 67 guestrooms and suites. The230-acre resort-which recently joined Marriott’s Autograph Collection-also comprises 11 Ocean Villas, each with a private pool.
“The primary goal when developing the master plan for Scrub Island was to center all activities and elements around the marina, a sustainable design approach that allowed us to keep large areas of the island as virgin as possible,” says Tim Peck, chairman of OBMI. “The completion of Phase I brings a true identity to this resort community and creates a strong foundation for future development of this master-planned destination.”
