Fairmont Hotels & Resorts will open seven hotels this year, five of which are new builds. The properties include:
- The Savoy (left) in London, which pays tribute to its original Edwardian and Art Deco design following a two-year, $163 million restoration, opens this summer. Highlights of the renovation include a new Royal Suite; a complete remodel of the River Restaurant; the new Beaufort Bar and Savoy Tea Shop; and the Thames Foyer, where a winter garden gazebo beneath an ornate glass dome serves as the perfect spot for afternoon tea.
- Makkah Clock Royal Tower, a Fairmont Hotel in Saudi Arabia, will be the focal point of the iconic Abraj Al Bait Complex. The 858-room hotel will offer Fairmont Gold, the brand’s exclusive lifestyle product offering, numerous dining outlets, and conference facilities. The 76-story hotel tower, at 1,893 feet high, will be among the world’s tallest and features a 130-foot clock, more than five times larger than Big Ben in London.
- Fairmont Pacific Rim in Vancouver will open the doors to a 377-room luxury hotel with 175 residential condos. Perched on the edge of the ocean, the hotel is adjacent to the Vancouver Conference Center expansion. The property is also home to Willow Stream Spa and Fitness Center and Fairmont Gold.
The newly restored Peace Hotel in Shanghai is now Fairmont Peace Hotel (right), which is resurrecting the Jazz Bar, a Shanghai institution since the 1930s. The ninth floor is home to the famed Peace Hall, evoking memories of old cabarets and gala parties
- Designed for LEED certification, Fairmont Pittsburgh offers 185 rooms and suites at the heart of the city’s newest cultural district. The hotel has breathtaking views of PNC Park and the Pittsburgh skyline on one side and Mount Washington and the historic downtown on the other
- Fairmont Beijing features a signature rose-gold glass curtain façade and exceptionally crafted architecture, along with meeting spaces that mix state-of-the-art technology with the traditional style of old Beijing "courtyard" culture and a three-level spa
Situated along South Africa’s east coast, Fairmont Zimbali Resort (left) offers natural beauty dotted with pockets of urban flair and enhanced by the rich Zulu heritage of the KwaZulu-Natal province. The property’s 154 guestrooms offer views of the Indian Ocean; oversized verandas; and elegant décor of stone, wood, and earth tones inspired by the area’s natural surroundings.
