Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts has announced its latest plans for China and India. Opening in 2013, Shangri-La Hotel, Nanchang will be located in a multi-use complex built in two stages. Phase I will include 319 guestrooms with meeting and function space and recreation facilities. All guestrooms will be contemporary in design with touches reflecting the local cultural heritage. Nearly two-thirds of all rooms will overlook the Ganjiang River and surrounding gardens. Amenities include three restaurants, a bar, lobby lounge, an expansive grand ballroom, an indoor pool, and health club. Phase II of the project will include a residential component, shopping area and office tower.
In India, Traders Hotel, Chennai, is slated to open in early 2012. Located within a mixed-use development, the 246-key property will offer four dining and entertaining, including a café, specialty and all-day-dining restaurants, and lobby lounge; meeting and event space; a health club; spa with beauty salon; and outdoor pool.
