Shangri-La Hotel, Manzhouli has debuted in northeast China, the brand’s third hotel in Inner Mongolia. The design by Eva Wang Studio celebrates the city’s unique mix of cultures by showcasing tapestries and furnishings of various influences such as Mongolian pattern carpets, Chinese bed runners, and Russian motif lamps.
A ceiling dome reminiscent of a Mongolian yurt greets guests in the lobby. Featuring a predominantly purple color palette, the hotel offers 235 guestrooms and suites, including Horizon Club accommodations with views of Xiaobei Lake, the city, or expansive grasslands with a mountain backdrop.
For dining, guests can choose Shang Palace, the signature Chinese restaurant outfitted with a dining hall and 12 private dining rooms featuring a yurt-inspired dome ceiling; Café 99, showcasing an open-theater kitchen; and the Lobby Lounge, designed with floor-to-ceiling French windows. The hotel’s specialty restaurant, Salt and Bread, will serve up Russian cuisine when it opens in June.
Guests also have access to an expansive health club equipped with an indoor pool, steam bath, sauna, hair salon, and massage facilities. Other amenities include a business center and 43,000 square feet of function space.
