Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts is set to open the Shangri-La Hotel, Shenyang. Opening on August 1st, the hotel will be unveiled in time to host athletic champions during the 12th China National Sports Games in September.

The hotel’s lobby and lounge take inspiration from the Imperial Palace garden, known for its 20 gardens and roses. Marble inlays in a rose petal pattern adorn the lobby floor, and the area carpets evoke an emperor’s robe. Supported by marble-clad columns, the lobby’s 33-foot high ceiling depicts wind and clouds in a traditional Chinese graphic style. Behind the reception desk is a recreation of a Song Dynasty painting found in the Shenyang Museum, featuring a flock of cranes to represent health and treasure.
Shangri-La Hotel, Shenyang’s 424 guestrooms start from 452 square feet and are decorated with Chinese accents. On the top five floors, the Horizon Club guestrooms offer city views through nearly floor-to-ceiling windows.
F&B options include Summer Palace and Shinsen, a Japanese restaurant and bar. Shinsen’s contemporary setting boasts a sushi and sake bar, teppan private dining rooms, and a rooftop terrace. Complementing the main dining areas are 13 private dining rooms with garden views.
The hotel’s meeting space covers 43,335 square feet on two floors. On level two, the 20,451-square-foot ballroom features floor-to-ceiling-windows. Additional meeting facilities include a second 6,092-square-foot ballroom and seven function rooms, one of which offers a 32,453-square-foot rooftop garden.
