The $210 million Sheraton Puerto Rico Convention Center Hotel & Casino is celebrating its grand opening as the first new full-service hotel and casino built in San Juan in more than a decade. Owned by Interlink Group, the 503-room property houses 35,000 square feet of meeting space featuring several open-air balcony verandas and a dedicated outdoor event space, as well as an expansive sun deck, multiple pools, spa, four restaurants, and club floor and lounge. In addition, the casino houses a circular bar and entertainment space, 448 slot machines, 16 table games, and specialty AV features. The hotel is also the first and only property in the Caribbean pursuing LEED certification.
Other upgrades and improved amenities at the Hotel Astor include a day spa and fitness center, along with a presidential suite that has an expansive outdoor balcony. The hotel also has green touches, such as keycard light switches and participating in the Global Soap Initiative, which recycles hotel soap and redistributes them to developing countries.
