Starwood is expanding in Latin America with six hotels debuting this year-including the introduction of the Westin brand to Peru, Panama, and Costa Rica, and the region’s first Aloft. Hotels include:
The Westin Lima Hotel & Convention Center, Peru will open in May with 301 guestrooms, 28,000 square feet of meeting space, several dining options, Westin Heavenly spa, and a fitness center.
The Westin Playa Conchal Resort & Spa, Costa Rica will be Starwood’s first all-inclusive resort when it opens in May. The resort is nestled between lush forests and the pristine beaches of Costa Rica’s North-Pacific Riviera and offers 406 oversized guestrooms, suites, and villas, along with more than 2,000 square feet of meeting and function space. Amenities include an 18-hole golf course, the Ahui Spa, fitness center, tennis courts, beach access, and a outdoor swimming pool.
The Westin Guadalajara, Mexico opens in August featuring offer 221 guest rooms (including 15 suites and the presidential suite), as well as 4,300 square feet of meeting and function space, a restaurant, lobby bar, and facility.
The Westin Playa Bonita, Panama, opening in October, will feature 611 guestrooms, three restaurants, a pool bar, entertainment area, lobby lounge, approximately 12,000 square feet of meeting and function space, several pools, and a full-service spa with 20 treatment rooms.
Aloft Bogota Airport, Colombia will feature 142 guestrooms and the brand’s signature offerings such as the re:mix lounge, re:charge, fitness center, and re:fuel café when it opens in late 2011.
Villarica Park Lake Hotel & Spa, a Luxury Collection Hotel, opens this month in Chile. The property’s 70 rooms and suites offer panoramic views of surrounding lakes, volcanoes, and mountains. The spa features a sauna and steam room, as well as a fitness center and indoor/outdoor pools. Guests also have access to meeting rooms and a business center.
