Built using local and sustainable materials, Six Senses Laamu has made its debut on the ultra-private Laamu Atoll in the Maldives. The resort’s 97 villas, designed to complement nature, sit back on the beach amidst the lush tropical vegetation or over the clear turquoise lagoon.
The Six Senses Spa is housed in four round wicker nests, two beside the sea and two in the treetops. Guests can also access a yoga pavilion, the Kinesis Gym, and juice bar. Meanwhile, the Chill bar is built over the water and on several levels, featuring a piano made almost entirely of driftwood. The wine “cellar,” Altitude, occupies a 21-foot tower of spun glass rising high out of the sea. Dining establishments include the Longitude Restaurant; Leaf, a venue serving organic fare; the Chai lounge; and Ice, featuring a chocolate studio.
