Housed on a remote atoll in the Maldives, the Six Senses Laamu is set to open in April 2011. The resort, built using local and sustainable materials, offers 97 villas designed to complement nature, sitting back on the beach amongst the lush green tropical vegetation or over the clear blue deep lagoon. F&B options are equally impressive, with the multilevel Chill bar built over the water; a wine “cellar” called Altitude that comprises a tower of spun glass rising out of the sea; the brasserie-like Longitude Restaurant; and Chai, a coffee and tea bar. For relaxation, guests can access the spa and yoga pavilion.
