Starwood has announced that 25 new Sheraton hotels will open in 2011, including 16 in China. The brand will open its fourth hotel in Shanghai, its second in Beijing, and its first two hotels in Guangzhou. With the addition of 16 new hotels in 2011, Sheraton will increase its portfolio in China to 53 by year’s end. The brand also accounts for half of the Starwood hotels under development in China.
Other key 2011 openings for Sheraton-which represents 30 percent of Starwood’s total development pipeline-include the brand’s first hotel in Bangalore and Hiroshima and second properties for Seoul and Montreal.
