The St. Regis Florence has opened following a 10-month restoration of the former Grand Hotel Florence. Originally designed in 1432 by Filippo Brunelleschi, the hotel features 81 guestrooms and 19 suites. Reflecting the city’s rich artistic heritage, accommodations boast individually handcarved gold leaf plaques and one of three different color palettes: Medici, Florentine, and Renaissance. In honor of Florence and its traditions, every guestroom and suite is named after noted Italian artists, benefactors, and nobility.

Designed by Bottega Veneta creative director Tomas Maier, the Bottega Veneta suite offers a palette that is serene and sophisticated, featuring muted neutrals that create a calm, cool effect. The unique suite is furnished with an inspired mix of pieces from the Bottega Veneta furniture collection, with characteristic beauty and attention to detail. Objects drawn from the Bottega Veneta home collection add elegance and versatility to the suite.

Custom-designed furniture, paintings, frescos, and crystal chandeliers contribute to the hotel’s sense of relaxed opulence. The restoration celebrates Florentine history and culture using authentic local artisans, product, and design elements, including custom handpainted Tuscan and Florentine landscapes in every guestroom, historic Italian engravings, and decorative antiques discerningly placed throughout the hotel.

The hotel’s restaurant, Etichetta Pinchiorri, features picturesque glassed art ceilings dating back to the 19th century and a spectacular hand-blown Murano glass chandelier. Other amenities include an outdoor library terrace; a mezzanine ballroom; a 15th-century brick vaulted cellar for intimate gatherings; and Iridium Spa Suites, complete with white and gray Florentine marble enriched with gold and silver walls and custom-designed mosaics.
