St. Regis Hotels and Resorts recently opened the St. Regis Mauritius Resort. Situated on the UNESCO World Heritage site of Le Morne, the resort marks the brand’s first hotel in Africa and the 30th St. Regis hotel in the world.

Designed by Cape Town, South Africa-based Stauch Vorster Architects with interiors by Johannesburg-based designer Trevor Julius of dsgn, the façade resembles a Victorian sugar-baron’s manor house. Terraces, expansive rooms, and colonnades appeal to the area’s colonial past.
St. Regis Mauritius features 172 guestrooms and suites⎯⎯ranging from 700 to 2300 square feet⎯⎯with terraces overlooking the Indian Ocean. The beachfront St. Regis Villa boasts a private entrance, four bedrooms with private pools and gardens, an infinity pool, a bar, and private spa treatment room.
Simply India⎯⎯the resort’s signature restaurant⎯⎯is led by celebrity chef Atul Kochhar and serves a modern interpretation of Indian cuisine. Led by executive chef Olivier Belliard, the St. Regis Mauritius Resort also includes six other dining options⎯⎯including the Le Manoir dining room, the Floating Market, and the Boathouse Bar and Grill. Additionally, the 1904 bar serves run cocktails and vintage whiskeys in a setting echoing the St. Regis New York hotel.

The resort also houses the 22,730-square-foot Iridium spa⎯⎯complete with a full-service salon, relaxation lounge, Jacuzzi, sauna and steam rooms, as well as a dedicated men’s grooming salon and a 24-hour fitness club.
